INSTALLATION GUIDELINES

1. SURFACE PREPARATION:

The surface where the tiles will be installed should be clean, dry, and level. Any debris, dust, or unevenness can cause the tiles to not adhere properly and may result in uneven installation. If there are any cracks or holes, they should be repaired before installation. It is important to ensure that the surface is structurally sound and capable of supporting the weight of the tiles.

2. TILE LAYOUT:

Before starting the installation, it is important to plan and layout the tiles to ensure that the pattern is consistent and aesthetically pleasing. You can do this by dry-fitting the tiles on the surface to get an idea of how they will look. Make sure to take into consideration any cut tiles that may be needed for edges or corners. It is also important to consider the direction of the tile pattern and ensure that it aligns with the overall design of the space.

3. ADHESIVE APPLICATION:

Apply adhesive to the surface with a notched trowel, and spread it evenly. The size of the notches on the trowel should be chosen based on the size of the tiles being used. Do not spread too much adhesive at once as it will dry out quickly. Work in small sections to ensure that the adhesive does not dry out before the tiles are installed. It is important to use the appropriate adhesive for the type of tiles being installed and to follow the manufacturer's instructions for application.

4. TILE INSTALLATION:

Carefully lay each tile onto the adhesive, pressing it down firmly. Use tile spacers to ensure that the gaps between tiles are consistent. It is important to make sure that the tiles are level and aligned properly as they are being installed. Use a level to ensure that each tile is flat and even with the adjacent tiles. If necessary, adjust the tiles before the adhesive dries to ensure a consistent pattern and level surface.

5. GROUTING:

Once the adhesive has dried completely, remove the tile spacers and apply grout to the gaps between the tiles. Choose a grout color that complements the color of the tiles. Clean any excess grout off the surface of the tiles with a damp sponge, making sure to not remove too much grout from the gaps. Allow the grout to dry completely before walking on the tiles or using the space.

6. SEALING:

After the grout has dried, it is recommended to seal the tiles to prevent staining and water damage. Choose a sealer that is appropriate for the type of tiles being used and apply it according to the manufacturer's instructions. It is important to regularly reapply the sealer to maintain the protection of the tiles.
